Helleno-Moesian [Quercus virgiliana] forests

Local [Quercus virgiliana]-dominated forests of the hills and low mountain slopes of the Pelagonids, the Pindus, the Moeso-Macedonian mountains, the Rhodopids, the Thessalian mountains, in particular of the supra-Mediterranean Quercion frainetto level of northern and middle Greece (Macedonia, Thrace, Epiros, Thessaly, Central Greece) and of the “Querceta frainetti” component of the xerothermal oak belt of southern and southwestern Bulgaria.
