Description:

Low forests of [Fagus sylvatica], not exceeding 12-15 metres in height, on shallow soils, usually of steep slopes, of the mid- and peri-Pannonic Bükk and Pilis hills, with an herb layer characterized by the endemic [Sesleria heuflerana ssp. hungarica], [Calamagrostis varia], [Phyteuma spicatum], and the presence of xerophilous oak forest species, of orchids and rare species, including [Cypripedium calceolus] and [Allium victorialis].
