Description:

Willow scrub dominated by [Salix purpurea ssp. lambertiana] and [Salix elaeagnos ssp. angustifolia] of water courses of southern France, Italy and Mediterranean eastern Spain south to the Rio Segura basin; [Salix purpurea] and [Salix triandra] scrubs lining watercourses of mediterranean and sub-Mediterranean northwest Africa, the first extending south to the Anti-Atlas and Saharan Atlas, the second limited to eastern and middle northern Algeria.
