Description:
Nitrophilous scrubby formations typically of dry soils and arid climates, often greyish-white, sometimes including taller, denser brushes. They are most frequent in the eastern Iberian peninsula, where characteristic shrubs include the species [Artemisia alba], [Lycium intricatum], [Capparis spinosa] and the Chenopodiaceae [Salsola], [Suaeda], [Atriplex halimus] and [Camphorosma monspeliaca]. In the eastern Mediterranean and thus in Greece, species like [Artemisia arborescens], [Piptatherum miliaceum], [Smyrnium apiifolium], [Atriplex halimus], [Ruta chalepensis] and [Anagyris foetida] are typical.
