[Paliurus spina-christi]-dominated thickets, usually dense and sometimes tall, often monodominated, with a Moesian subcontinental accompanying flora, of the hills of the Balkan Range, the Moeso-Macedonian Mountains, the Rhodopides, and more locally, of the extreme southeastern Dinarides, of the Pelagonides, the Pindus, the Thessalian Mountains.
