Open, thermophile, stripped grasslands of the adrets of the (mostly) southern Alps and Central Massif, formed by calcifuge species of the hard, sharp-pointed [Festuca varia] group ([Festuca varia], [Festuca scabriculmis]), often associated with [Carex sempervirens] s.l.
